Decorative Vinyl Film for Walls

A blank or dated wall doesn’t need a repaint or new panelling to look different — a self-adhesive vinyl film goes straight over the existing surface and changes the finish in a day, not a week. Wood grain, stone texture, plain colour, or a patterned design: the wall underneath doesn’t change, only what you see and touch does. Sumona supplies and installs vinyl wall film for homes, offices, and commercial interiors across Delhi NCR and pan-India.

What vinyl wall film is, and why people use it over paint or wallpaper

It’s a PVC sheet with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing, applied directly to a wall — plaster, plywood, MDF panelling, or painted drywall. Compared to paint, it gives you texture and pattern paint can’t, and it’s more forgiving of minor surface imperfections since it’s not a thin liquid coat. Compared to traditional paper wallpaper, it’s generally more durable, easier to wipe clean, and holds up better in high-traffic or higher-moisture rooms.

It’s not a permanent structural change either. A wall can be re-wrapped in a different finish later without stripping plaster or repainting from scratch.

FAQs

Standard vinyl wall film typically runs ₹25–₹80 per sq. ft. installed. Textured or premium designer finishes run ₹90–₹200 per sq. ft.

Most vinyl wall films resist moisture and light splashes well, making them suitable for kitchens and semi-exposed areas, though they aren’t meant for constantly wet surfaces like shower interiors. Check the specific product’s rating for bathroom use.

Yes, as long as the paint is in good condition — not flaking or heavily textured. Surface prep before application matters more than what’s underneath.

In most cases yes, though this depends on the wall surface and how long the film has been applied. Freshly painted or well-sealed walls generally allow cleaner removal.

Typically 3–7 years indoors, depending on film grade, sunlight exposure, and wall traffic.

Yes, it’s a reasonable option for humid conditions when the wall surface is properly prepped and sealed before installation.

For higher-traffic commercial spaces, vinyl film generally holds up better — it’s more resistant to scuffing and easier to clean than most paper wallpaper.
